Animal Attractions

As well as bird and wildlife watching on the Broads, many other animal and nature attractions are close by.

Thrigby Hall is a lovely day out for all the family, with raised walkways and large viewing windows, allow you to get up close to many fascinating species of animals, many endangered. A highlight of the park is the Swamp House, with the crocodiles and alligators, will you cross the wobbly bridge?

Banham Zoo is a bit further afield, but worth a visit being home to over 2000 animals and having been dedicated to animal conservation for 50 years. There is a new sea lion enclosure for 2018, alongside bird of prey displays, the walk through Lemur enclosure and many more animals and activities to see.

Get up close with owls, by booking a private visit to meet some at Happisburgh Owls. 

Pensthorpe offers a full day out, exploring wildlife and garden trails within a 700 acre sprawling, lake and woodland conservation park. Various talks and feeding throughout the day, as well as the opportunity to go pond dipping, or go on the Pensthorpe Explorer Tour. There is also Hootz House indoor play for children to let off more steam if they still have energy after exploring the park, as well as various children's craft activities in school holiday periods and the Hootz Discovery Trail.

Also, a visit to see the seals at Blakeney or Horsey is one to put on your list! The pupping season starts in November, through to January and Horsey is a popular destination for those visiting the area during the Winter months. http://friendsofhorseyseals.co.uk/
